1. Drink Preparation and Knowledge
Mixing Drinks: Preparing a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, beers, wines, and specialty drinks, following standard recipes or creating custom drinks for guests.
Understanding Drink Recipes: Mastering the details of classic cocktails, house specialties, and contemporary drinks to meet guest preferences.
Knowledge of Alcohol: Understanding various types of alcohol (spirits, wine, beer) and how they are used in cocktails and other drinks.
Presentation: Ensuring that all drinks are presented attractively, using garnishes, glassware, and proper pouring techniques.
2. Customer Service
Welcoming Guests: Greeting customers as they arrive, offering a friendly and attentive atmosphere, and making them feel comfortable.
Taking Orders: Listening carefully to guest orders, making recommendations, and answering any questions regarding the menu or drink options.
Providing a Memorable Experience: Creating a positive and memorable experience for customers by being attentive, friendly, and responsive to their needs.
Handling Special Requests: Accommodating customer requests for specific drink preferences, dietary restrictions, or custom cocktails.
3. Maintaining Bar Area
Stocking and Organizing: Keeping the bar stocked with necessary ingredients, garnishes, glassware, napkins, and cleaning supplies. Ensuring that everything is organized and easy to access.
Cleaning and Sanitizing: Ensuring the cleanliness of the bar area, including wiping down counters, cleaning glassware, and keeping surfaces sanitized.
Inventory Management: Monitoring inventory levels of alcohol, mixers, and supplies, and communicating with management about restocking when necessary.
4. Cash Handling and Order Management
Processing Payments: Handling cash, credit card transactions, or digital payments, ensuring accuracy when processing payments for drinks and services.
Tab Management: Keeping track of customers' tabs (if applicable) and ensuring that all charges are accurate.
Tips and Service Charges: Ensuring that tipping protocols are followed and that guests understand how service charges are handled.
5. Safety and Responsible Service
Monitoring Alcohol Consumption: Observing guests’ alcohol consumption and ensuring that no one is over-served. If necessary, cutting off intoxicated guests and ensuring they leave the bar safely.
Compliance with Laws: Adhering to local laws and regulations regarding alcohol service, including age verification and respecting drinking limits.
Preventing Underage Drinking: Checking IDs to ensure customers are of legal drinking age before serving alcohol.
