POWERTECH is a center of excellence for propulsion technologies, specializing in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of combustion engines, expendable turbojet engines, and turbofan engines for a wide range of aerospace, defence, and autonomous applications, including fixed- and rotary-wing UAVs and other advanced platforms.
Key Accountabilities:
Balancing and Alignment of Turbine Components
Perform precision balancing of rotating components, such as turbine rotors, shafts, and impellers, to minimize vibrations.
Use specialized tools and balancing equipment to achieve the specified tolerances and align components properly.
Verify alignment after installation or maintenance to ensure operational integrity.
Technical Expertise and Troubleshooting:
Use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions or balancing issues.
Stay up-to-date on advancements in balancing technology and recommend upgrades or improvements.
Collaborate with engineers and technicians to enhance balancing methods and solve complex issues.
Calibration and Maintenance of Balancing Equipment
Ensure that all balancing tools, such as balancers, alignment lasers, and vibration analyzers, are calibrated and in proper working condition.
Perform routine maintenance and adjustments on balancing equipment to ensure reliability and accuracy.
Keep records of calibration and maintenance activities, following facility standards.
Quality Control
Ensure all balancing processes meet specific tolerance and quality requirements.
Conduct pre- and post-test inspections to verify accuracy and identify potential issues.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment to prevent contamination or interference with results.
Safety
Follow all safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while working on or near rotating equipment.
Ensure that all balancing and alignment work complies with industry safety standards.
Regularly participate in safety training and maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety procedures.
Compliance and Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of balance work carried out and calibrations.
Qualifications & Experience
At least 5 to 7 years of related experience, preferably working on aerospace engines.
Experience with applying the latest balancing techniques on engines.
Extensive knowledge of the latest balance methods.
Strong diagnostic skills to identify and fix balancing issues that arise during build, installation, and test.
High level of accuracy in measurements with good attention to detail.
Strong knowledge of safety protocols to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
