Pastry Chef de Partie We are seeking an imaginative pastry chef to be accountable for crafting scrumptious desserts and confectionery, making seasonal menus, as well as creating brand new dishes for the bread section of our kitchen. You must be enthusiastic about cooking and inspired to develop masterpieces that exceed our clients' expectations. To be effective in this role, you should be fluent in the culinary arts and adhere to stringent standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
Bread Chef Duties:
Operating and handling the bread section of the kitchen and communicating with the executive and cooks to ensure an effective working environment.
Preparing ingredients and handling baking and other kitchen equipment.
Developing pastries, baked items, and confections by following an established recipe.
Establishing new recipes for seasonal menus.
Enhancing pastries and desserts to ensure stunning and tasteful presentation.
Meeting customers to discuss details and preparation of customized desserts and pastries for special occasions, such as weddings.
Checking the supply of cooking ingredients.
Buying new materials, components, and tools for the bread area when required and within budget.
Ensuring their section of the kitchen complies with safety and health regulations.
Supervising and training staff when needed.
Pastry Cook Requirements:
High school diploma.
Post-secondary training at a culinary school.
Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, cooking, or relevant field.
2 or more years' experience working within the food sector as a Pastry Chef, Baker, or relevant role.
Working knowledge of baking techniques and the pastry-making process.
Creative ability with artistic skill in decorating cakes and other desserts.
Keen attention to detail.
Extensive knowledge of hygiene concepts, food preparation, and nutrition.
Flexible working hours, including weekends and nights, when required.
Efficient in working in a fast-paced, production environment.
