In this Back Order & Fill Management Supervisor position;

Job Purpose:

The Back Order & System Fill Supervisor oversees the order fulfilment process, ensuring to achieve and exceed the set target for fill rate consistently and back-order lines are managed efficiently to minimize both lines and aging. This role is crucial for ensuring customer satisfaction through consistent industry leading fill rate and efficient management of backorder lines, that involves in depth data analysis and cross functional coordination with several teams to achieve the desired results.

Dimensions:

Dealers – Maintain a high fill rate and low back order lines

Internal – Work cross functionally with MEDC teams on supply chain

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Lead the Backorder team
  • Maintain a high system fill rate ensuring the right part is available at the right time
  • Comprehend technical bulletins and ensure accurate parts planning and inventory
  • Work with Technical & Quality teams to plan and ensure part availability based on quality failure rates
  • Understand and plan effectively for parts based on seasonality
  • Monitor and manage back orders, ensuring timely fulfilment and communication with various teams
  • Analyse data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement
  • Develop and implement strategies to minimize back orders, improve order fulfilment rates
  • Coordinate with Inventory Control team to maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure stock availability to meet order requirements
  • Work closely with customer service and warehouse teams to resolve order-related issues
  • Prepare and maintain reports on order status and fulfilment performance
  • Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency
  • Identify areas for improvement in the order fulfillment process and develop strategies to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and incorporate them into the fulfillment process
  • Train and guide team members on standard operating procedures and best practices

Knowledge Skills and Experience:

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Min 5 years professional experience in order fulfillment, inventory management, or supply chain management in the automotive industry

Education:

  • Engineering (Automotive/Mechanical), additional education in supply chain management is a plus

Skills:

  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team
  • Proficiency in SAP, or other inventory management software and systems
  • Analytical skills, with excellent proficiency in Advanced MS Excel, Power BI or other analytical tools
