Reporting to the Installation Manager, the ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining and modifying avionics systems, contributing directly to the performance and safety of aircraft.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow official engineering documentation confidently and safely, including Service Bulletins, AMM, Wiring Diagrams to carry out complex aircraft modifications.
  • Conduct comprehensive removal of avionics equipment, ensuring all components are safely disconnected and stripped down as necessary.
  • Install complex wiring harnesses within avionics shelves and panels, ensuring adherence to technical specifications.
  • Perform modifications to existing wiring systems to accommodate new installations or upgrades.
  • Execute wiring terminations, including soldering, crimping, and connecting terminals, ensuring reliable and secure connections.
  • Conduct testing of all wiring connections using specialized equipment to verify functionality and integrity.
  • Safely remove and install various shelves, panels, and equipment, adhering to technical manuals and safety protocols.
  • Manufacture wiring looms to precise specifications, and conduct thorough testing, ensuring quality and durability.
  • Perform comprehensive testing of avionic systems, including functional and performance tests.
  • Carry out work in compliance with company, health and safety, and airport procedures and regulations.
  • Maintain a FOD-free working area and clean up the bay area before and after work.
  • Ensure that all unused serviceable and unserviceable items are returned to stores with the correct label attached.
  • Behave in a professional manner when dealing with customers.
  • Keep updated on new Technical Notices, Quality Notices issued, general and technical information.
  • Accept appropriate training that will enable a more effective contribution.

Skills and Experience:

  • Completion of formal aircraft apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience within an aircraft maintenance environment.
  • Recent commercial/military aircraft and avionics experience.
  • Demonstrable experience in aircraft modification/production environment.
  • Experience reading manufacturers’ drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Meet qualifying criteria for all required security clearances.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and be flexible to meet changing work requirements.
