Job Description

The Position

The Audio and Visual Technician operates, maintains, and repairs all audio, visual, and lighting equipment throughout the hotel. He will be responsible for the completion of other services or duties as requested by the AV Supervisor / Shift Supervisor.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Ensures all work follows safe work practices and procedures.
2. Responds immediately to all work requests which concern Health and Safety.
3. Responds to guest requests promptly in a professional and courteous manner.
4. Operates, maintains, and repairs all audio, visual, lighting, and related equipment.
5. Ensures the optimum performance of all A/V and lighting related equipment by effectively following the preventive maintenance routine.
6. Evaluates and appropriately responds to equipment usage and energy efficiency.
7. Completes all work orders with due diligence.
1. Maintains a daily log book highlighting problems and solutions; and activities.
2. Maintains A/V and lighting shop drawings and files.
3. Maintains equipment catalogue and tagging directories.
8. Completes tasks as assigned by AV Supervisor / Shift Supervisor.
9. Maintains health and safety documentation and records for the assigned area.
10. Reports and documents potential safety hazards.
11. Participates as directed in the emergency response team.

Qualifications

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

1. Good basic English.
2. Experience and knowledge of modern hotel room facilities, equipment, and set-ups.

Qualifications

1. Secondary School + Technical College or equivalent.

Experience

Minimum 5 years Electrical/HVAC installation or maintenance experience preferably in Industrial – Commercial Projects. Hotels – Hospitals experience.
