Associate Specialist, Payroll
Job Description:
This position is responsible for:
Timely & accurate deposits and reporting of US Federal/State/Local/County; Unemployment & backup withholding taxes.
Providing customer service on payroll tax issues to business and employees.
Performing tax research, registration, and correspondence.
Assisting with state registrations and multi-state reporting.
Providing support for tax audits.
Performing system testing of new authorities, tax types, pay elements, tax rules & rate changes.
Driving process improvements and automation.
Handling special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or business equivalent.
Knowledge of US Federal, state, local payroll tax regulations.
Knowledge of payroll information systems, business application systems, and personal computer skills is required. Experience in Workday is preferred.
Good communication skills and at least 2 years of experience working within a payroll or tax environment.
High level of energy, self-direction, motivation, follow-through, and issue ownership.
Advanced skills in Word, Excel, and other database applications.
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and continuous process improvement skills.
Ability to be flexible with work schedule, including weekends and holidays.
