Associate Director / Director, Project Finance – MEA

Job description

1. Act as Project Finance deal team lead for the assigned projects from inception of a project approved by senior management, assessing financiability and related financing restructuring, and refinancing as required.
2. Responsible for the entire financing cycles and process, financial close and subsequent covenants compliance.
3. Work closely with other departments, including financial modelling, tax, legal, and business development, to ensure successful execution of financing mandates.
4. Responsible for negotiation, documentation and closing.
5. Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with all JKP relationship banks, including project finance lenders, guarantee providers and account banks.
6. Support business development in commercial negotiations with third parties as required.
7. Oversee the appointment and management of other third-party advisors related to the financing function – this may include tax and accounting, and financial advisors.
8. Assist the team leader in data analysis and providing relevant information for internal reporting to group management.

Qualification

1. Minimum 15 years’ experience in project finance and/or structured finance with a top tier international bank and/or highly recognized developer in renewable industry or in the infrastructure sector. Hands-on experience in non-recourse financing in the Middle East is a plus.
2. Demonstrated successful track record as lead in terms of negotiation and documentation.
3. Outstanding communication skills and relationship management, internal and external.
4. Result driven and creative in solution alternatives.
5. Passionate to deliver and excel.
6. Demonstrated capability in working as a team and in a culturally sensitive environment.
7. Qualifications in accounting, legal or engineering are not required but preferred.
8. Bachelor's degree from an internationally recognized university is a must.
