Job description

The Assistant Sales Manager Weddings & MICE will be responsible for driving sales and maximizing revenue through the successful management of weddings, meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE). You will support the Sales & Marketing team in creating and implementing strategies to attract and convert leads while ensuring the flawless execution of events at Rixos Marina Abu Dhabi. This position requires excellent client relationship management, strategic thinking, and exceptional communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales & Business Development:
    1. Actively prospect, develop, and manage new business opportunities for weddings, meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions.
    2. Respond promptly to inquiries, create tailored proposals, and negotiate contracts to secure bookings.
    3. Cultivate long-term relationships with clients, agencies, and event planners to ensure repeat business and maximize revenue.
    4. Maintain and track a robust pipeline of potential clients, managing leads effectively.
  2. Event Planning & Coordination:
    1. Collaborate with clients to understand their specific requirements and offer tailored solutions for their wedding and MICE events.
    2. Coordinate with internal teams (operations, F&B, audiovisual, etc.) to ensure seamless event execution.
    3. Assist in overseeing the setup, execution, and breakdown of events, ensuring that client expectations are exceeded.
  3. Client Relationship Management:
    1. Provide personalized service and regular updates to clients throughout the event planning process.
    2. Address client concerns and feedback in a timely and professional manner to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
    3. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to drive business growth and customer loyalty.
  4. Reporting & Administrative Duties:
    1. Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, bookings, and client communications in the CRM system.
    2. Generate sales reports to track performance against targets and identify opportunities for growth.
    3. Assist in the preparation of contracts, proposals, and other documentation in accordance with company standards.
  5. Collaboration & Teamwork:
    1. Work closely with the Sales & Marketing team to align event strategies with business goals and overall marketing campaigns.
    2. Collaborate with the Operations team to ensure event logistics and guest satisfaction meet the highest standards.
    3. Participate in sales meetings and contribute to the development of sales strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality Management, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in sales or event management within the hospitality industry with a focus on weddings and MICE.
  • Strong understanding of the wedding and MICE markets, including trends, client expectations, and key competitors.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and hotel booking systems (experience with CRM software is a plus).
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
