Description:

Stantec Abu Dhabi is currently seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer with a mechanical background on a construction supervision project involving water pipelines and water Pumping Stations.

The Assistant Resident Engineer will be required to:

1. Lead and supervise a team of Engineers (Inspectors) and contractor within contract period.
2. Implement methods for dispute avoidance and resolution study.
3. Proactive acumen and an ability to manage multiple sites.
4. Review contractor technical submittals, ensuring compliance with project specification.
5. Respond to client/contractor queries and provide technical inputs related to mechanical discipline as needed.
6. Effectively evaluate technical proposals and their constructability, technology deployment, solving the technical site problems that may arise during construction.
7. Evaluate and monitor the progress of the Works in accordance with the submitted Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) along with the Cost Breakdown Structure and Resources Breakdown Structure.
8. Oversee all environmental protection aspects of the construction and operation of similar size sewerage projects.
9. Ensure Quality Assurance Specifications and Statistical Quality Control.
10. Review and justify the material submissions, analyze laboratory and technical reports, carry out acceptance sampling plans, testing and quality measures, ensuring compliance with the project’s specifications.
11. Prepare QC forms and check lists, comply with Project QA/QC plans and write clear, brief and accurate technical reports.
12. Prepare construction project monthly valuation.
13. Review project progress against the baseline program and provide updates to the project planner/quantity surveyor as required.
14. Participate in assessing and evaluating Contractor’s Claims.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
2. 10+ years of work experience ideally with an engineering consultancy.
3. Experience working on water infrastructure projects, including water pumping systems, piping and pipelines systems, Tanks, HVAC, Firefighting, and Hypo Chlorination systems.
