Description:

Stantec is looking to hire an Assistant Resident Engineer for a Sewage Treatment Plant in Dubai. This role involves the rehabilitation of an existing Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) to improve its efficiency and extend its capacity to treat up to 435,000 m3/day. The selected candidate should have extensive experience in local sewage treatment plant facilities, along with a proven ability to manage and supervise construction works and optimize operations in accordance with specifications.

1. Rehabilitation / Repairing of Civil Works
2. Extension of the Plant to around 175,000 m3/Day
3. Rehabilitation of existing 260,000 m3/Day STP

Qualifications:

The Assistant Resident Engineer must have comprehensive knowledge of the existing infrastructure in the Emirates of Dubai. The candidate should possess a relevant degree from a recognized university and have a minimum of 15 years of experience in infrastructure works. Responsibilities include making on-the-spot decisions and liaising with service authorities. The candidate should have experience managing site works for construction, sewage treatment plants, and pumping stations across various disciplines, as well as thorough knowledge of infrastructure design.

The candidate should be familiar with DM guidelines, manage inspection activities, and ensure actual works align with planned works according to the construction work program, utilizing quality assurance, quantity surveying, and project network techniques (Primavera P3).

• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Primavera P3.
• Confident in ability to control works.
• Excellent written and communication skills (English), time management, and supervisory skills.
• Ability to prepare instructions, specifications, reports, and cost estimates.
• Capacity to make decisions.
• Ability to liaise with DM and other infrastructure authorities.
