Assistant Resident Engineer - Civil (Sewerage Treatment Plant)

Stantec is looking to hire an Assistant Resident Engineer for a Sewage Treatment Plant in Dubai. This role involves the rehabilitation of an existing Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) to enable it to perform at its highest efficiency and to extend the plant to treat up to around 435,000 m³/day. The selected candidate shall have extensive experience working in local sewage treatment plant facilities along with a proven ability to manage and supervise construction works and optimize the operation process in accordance with the specification.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Rehabilitation/Repairing of Civil Works
2. Extension of the Plant to around 175,000 m³/Day
3. Rehabilitation of existing 260,000 m³/Day STP

Qualifications:

The Assistant Resident Engineer must have full knowledge of the existing infrastructure in the Emirates of Dubai. The candidate must have a relevant degree from a recognized university and at least 15 years of experience in infrastructure works. He must be able to make on-the-spot decisions and deal with all service authorities. The candidate should have experience in managing site works for construction and sewage treatment plants and pumping station works across different disciplines, as well as thorough knowledge in the design of infrastructure works.

Familiarity with DM guidelines is essential for managing inspection activities and ensuring that actual works align with the planned works as per the construction program using quality assurance, quantity surveying, and project network techniques (Primavera P3).

Required Skills:

• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Primavera P3
• Confident in ability to control works
• Excellent written and communication skills (English), time management, and supervisory skills
• Ability to prepare instructions, specifications, reports, and cost estimates
• Capacity to make decisions
• Ability to liaise with DM and other infrastructure authorities
