Assistant Resident Engineer (Civil Engineer)
Dubai, UAE

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Assistant Resident Engineer for Infrastructure and Landscape project to join our team! In this role you will get to assist the Resident Engineer in administering the operational functions of the day-to-day activities on the project with respect to assigned works.

  1. Ensure the Contractor's compliance with the Contract Documents.
  2. Inspect all workmanship and material.
  3. Coordinate the supply of vertical and horizontal controls for the Contractor.
  4. Make layout checks on lines and grades.
  5. Coordinate with other Contractors.
  6. Maintain all file records on designated forms. These records include all reports on work force, equipment, progress, safety, etc.
  7. Review and approve the Contractor's shop drawings.
  8. Locate, execute and interpret all soils and materials testing according to the provisions in the Contract Documents and Standard Specifications.
  9. Ensure that the Contractor is not relieved of his responsibilities without Clients authorization.
  10. Check personnel, equipment and material costs for all Variation Orders and Change Orders required under the terms of the Contract.
  11. Preparation of the Monthly Report.
  12. Site Safety Monitoring wherein the monitoring activities, meetings, reviews, safety violations, rectification measures, and accident reports are included in the Monthly Progress Report.
  13. Inspect safety conditions and inform the Contractor of construction safety violations and follow up action to be taken.
  14. Attend all meetings, and prepare written minutes for distribution.
  15. Review correspondence and prepare responses for signature.
  16. Review, update, monitor and report on the Contractor's work schedules, CPM-chart and Cash Flow Status.
  17. Monitor and report on progress of scheduled utility relocation work.
  18. Provide all photographs before, during, and after construction necessary to provide adequate documentation of changes in site and adjacent structures.
  19. Review and approve the Contractor's plans for protection of existing buildings and structures.
  20. Review all construction activities regarding compliance with local traffic ordinances and public convenience.
  21. Receive and review complaints and claims of damage and expedite the Contractor's investigation into these complaints and damage claims.
  22. Approve all restoration or final clean-up work.
  23. Coordination with other Contractors, Departments and Agencies.
  24. Provide a 'punch list' and final inspection.
  25. Check and approve 'as-built' drawings submitted by the Contractor and maintain a status log.
  26. Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Required Skills

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
Minimum of 10 years of related experience in design, site supervision, and construction management of major roads, utilities, and community development projects.
Knowledge of concerned authorities NOC's and PTW process and requirements.
Recent UAE experience is strongly preferred.
Professional registration may also be required
