Assistant Quantity Surveyor

We are currently seeking a motivated Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with cost estimating, project planning, and contract administration. You will work closely with senior quantity surveyors and project managers to ensure projects are delivered within budget and on schedule. Experience in the waterproofing industry is ideal.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist with preparing cost estimates and budgets for construction projects
2. Analyze construction contracts and change orders to ensure accurate pricing and cost control
3. Conduct site visits to monitor project costs and ensure they are within budget
4. Work collaboratively with other members of the project team, including architects, engineers, and contractors
5. Assist with contract administration, including reviewing and negotiating change orders
6. Attend site meetings and perform site inspections to monitor project progress and costs
7. Collaborate with project teams to develop project schedules and track progress against milestones
8. Prepare reports and presentations to communicate project cost and budget status to senior management

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering or Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field
2. Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in construction cost estimating and quantity surveying needed.
3. Knowledge of construction contracts, change orders, and budget management
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
7. Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction cost estimating software
