Job Description: Assistant Nurse – OPD

Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Nurse to join our Outpatient Department (OPD) in Dubai. The ideal candidate will assist registered nurses and physicians in providing high-quality care to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout their visit. As an Assistant Nurse, you will play a key role in supporting the medical team and ensuring smooth operations in the OPD setting.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist Registered Nurses (RNs) and physicians in providing nursing care to patients in the OPD.
2. Take patient vitals, including temperature, blood pressure, heart rate, and respiratory rate, and accurately record the information in the patient’s medical records.
3. Prepare patients for examination and assist physicians during clinical procedures, ensuring patient comfort.
4. Administer routine medications as per instructions from the physician or nurse.
5. Provide wound care, including cleaning, dressing, and monitoring healing progress.
6. Assist with patient intake, including preparing and explaining consent forms and other required documentation.
7. Educate patients on proper care instructions and lifestyle changes as per the guidance of the healthcare team.
8. Assist with patient transportation within the facility, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
9. Ensure that medical equipment and instruments are sterilized and properly maintained.
10. Maintain accurate patient records, documenting all care activities in compliance with legal and healthcare standards.
11. Help maintain cleanliness and organization of the OPD area, following infection control protocols.
12. Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families, answering any questions they may have regarding their treatment or care.
13. Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care and a smooth patient experience in the OPD.

Qualifications & Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent; nursing assistant certification or diploma is a plus.
2. Previous experience in a healthcare or nursing assistant role, preferably in an outpatient or clinical setting.
3. Basic understanding of medical terminology and procedures.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
5. Ability to handle patients with care, empathy, and respect.
6. Knowledge of infection control practices and patient safety protocols.
7. Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.
8. Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
9. Ability to remain calm under pressure and work efficiently in a healthcare setting.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED3,499.00 - AED3,500.00 per month
