Supervises the day-to-day operations of the pipe department to ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established policies, processes, and procedures.
Prioritizes health and safety in daily activities.
Reviews, approves, and follows up on project programmes and takes appropriate measures where required for contractual delivery of projects.
Researches and develops new work techniques and technologies related to pipe fabrication and welding, including improvement of documentation process flow for the Department.
Receives and executes any work-related instructions from the Department Manager.
Substitutes for the Department Manager during his absence when appointed.
Defines priorities for the daily work processes of the Department.
Liaises with other trades, Ship Repair Managers, and Superintendents to ensure smooth workflow on projects.
Inspects work sites inside the department (workshop, offices) and on board to ensure resources are optimized.
Raises Occurrence Reports and approves repair methods for rejected work.
Approves Material Requisitions.
Stops processes if running Quality standards are not met.
Qualifications/Experience & Skills
Graduate in Engineering discipline.
10 years of shipyard/offshore experience related to piping.
ISO 9001/OHSAS 18001/ISO 14001 Awareness Course, Appreciation, and Interpretation Course.
