Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced person to manage all aspects of GCC VAT compliance, reporting, and advisory for our retail operations. The profile requires expert knowledge of GCC VAT and should be good in handling IT-related tax implementation projects, ensuring seamless integration of VAT processes with ERP and other digital systems.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Compliance and Management

  • Ensure compliance with GCC VAT regulations across all operations in the region.
  • Review and submit VAT returns, reconciliations, and related filings in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitor changes in GCC VAT laws and implement necessary updates to internal processes.
  • Liaise with tax authorities and manage audits, assessments, and inquiries.
  • Should have a good understanding of accounting.

IT and System Implementation

  • Collaborate with IT teams to design, implement, and maintain VAT-related functionalities in ERP systems.
  • Provide guidance on VAT-compliant invoicing, billing, and reporting requirements.

Advisory and Training

  • Act as a subject matter expert on GCC VAT for internal stakeholders.
  • Provide tax advisory support for new business initiatives, transactions, and contracts.
  • Train and guide finance, operations, and IT teams on VAT compliance and best practices.
  • Develop and implement VAT-related policies, procedures, and controls.

Qualifications and Skills

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelors / Masters in Accounting or Finance.
  • Professional certification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in indirect tax, with a focus on GCC VAT.
  • Strong experience in retail or similar industries is preferable.
  • Proven expertise in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and tax-related IT implementations.
  • In-depth knowledge of GCC VAT laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Familiarity with VAT reporting and automation tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
