Section: Venue Association & Conferences

Reporting to: Associate Director - Planning and Operations

Location: Dubai

Job Purpose

The Assistant Manager plays an integral role in the conferences department, responsible for driving revenue through selling conference spaces to potential clients. The role involves building strong relationships with clients, understanding their event needs, and presenting our convention center as the ideal venue. This results-driven position requires a mix of sales acumen, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to meeting sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

Prospecting and Lead Generation

  • Identify and research potential clients within the conference industry.
  • Utilize various channels to generate leads and build a strong client pipeline.

Client Consultation

  • Engage with prospective clients to understand their requirements.
  • Provide tailored solutions and recommendations to meet client expectations.

Venue Presentations

  • Conduct site visits to showcase available conference spaces, amenities, and services.
  • Deliver persuasive presentations highlighting the unique selling points and competitive advantages of hosting events at our venue.

Negotiation and Closing

  • Prepare and present detailed proposals including pricing, space allocation, and event logistics.
  • Negotiate pricing and contracts to achieve revenue targets and close sales.

Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and industry partners.
  • Act as the primary point of contact throughout the process, ensuring client satisfaction and fostering long-term loyalty.

Market Research and Analysis

  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and market demands.
  • Analyze sales data to identify opportunities for growth and optimization.

Collaboration and Coordination

  • Work closely with internal teams, including event operations, marketing, and catering, to ensure smooth execution of booked conferences.
  • Ensure clear communication and alignment across teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Qualifications

Formal Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality, or related field.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 3 to 4 years experience in the industry, with a focus on commercial sales.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Proven track record of success in B2B sales, preferably within the events or hospitality industry.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.
