Job Description
Due to the continued success of GEMS FirstPoint School, we are looking to appoint an outstanding Assistant Headteacher (Primary) for September 2025. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Head Teacher Primary to support the Head of School. This role involves overseeing curriculum, inclusion, pastoral care, teaching and learning, and professional development, ensuring the highest standards of education, student wellbeing, and staff growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership & Management: Support the Head of Schools to achieve the strategic objectives for the Key Stage and school, leading action planning and school improvement initiatives.
  2. Teaching & Learning: Model excellent teaching, inspire staff and students, and lead the development of teaching standards across the Key Stage.
  3. Team Development: Lead and mentor year group leaders, and other teaching staff to drive improvements.
  4. Operational Support: Oversee key operational elements such as interventions, year group management, communications with parents, and ensuring a high standard of learning environments.
  5. Strategic Input: Provide strategic input into the continuous improvement of the Key Stage and the school, aligning with the school’s vision of delivering an exceptional learning experience.
Qualifications and Experience:
  1. Essential: Degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  2. At least 4 years of teaching experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership position.
  3. Experience in a similar role.
  4. The personal leadership qualities to develop trusting relationships, a coaching approach to development and be able to inspire others.
  5. The desire to provide outstanding teaching and learning.
  6. Aspiration to work in a world-class school with real prospects for enhancing their career.
  7. Excellent IT and interpersonal communication skills to work closely with students and parents.
  8. A creative and enthusiastic approach both in and out of the classroom.
