Assistant Fire Instructor

The Assistant Fire Instructor will support the fire training programs and personally conduct some of the training while assisting the Fire Instructor in carrying out the required fire and emergency response trainings.

Principal Accountabilities

• Supports delivery of both theoretical (classroom) and field-based training in a safe environment.
• Demonstrates good class control and safety supervision.
• Prepares and follows a creative lesson plan in conjunction with the instructor for each class.
• Ensures fire ground and simulators are prepared, operated, and maintained in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
• Supports Fire Training Instructors in carrying out their duties and ensures the safety of training attendees through preparation and maintenance of fire training facilities and equipment.
• Carries out daily inspections and maintenance of fire training equipment.
• Identifies equipment, materials, and resources required; maintains Fire Training Centre records and prepares reports.
• Ensures ENOC HSE rules, regulations, policies, and procedures are enforced.
• Motivates, monitors, and maintains discipline of course attendees.
• Maintains training records, including records of attendance, reports, inspections, certifications, and filing course rosters.
• Delivers basic fire training courses.
• Guides and supervises the technician in maintaining all firefighting equipment.

Experience

• Professional and vocational qualifications or equivalent.
• Certified in firefighting training or a diploma as a fire trainer or equivalent.
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
• Computer literacy and good knowledge in MS Office; efficient administration skills.
• Very good communication and interpersonal skills.
