Job description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post financial accounting entries, recharges, reports, and other relevant reconciliations on a periodic basis and assist with month-ends;
  • Assist in coordination and preparation of various returns, including financial statements and tax returns, for a number of legal entities, under supervision and guidance;
  • Preparation of statutory compliance returns, including ICV and Local Content certifications;
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly VAT and WHT returns for assigned statutory entities;
  • Preparation of periodical reports and reconciliations to be submitted to the business;
  • Support the Finance team on ad-hoc initiatives and analysis;
  • Ensure compliance with Finance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs);
  • Assist the wider Finance team with internal and external audits;
  • Develop strong working relationships with team members and other key stakeholders;
  • Seek opportunities to learn new skills and aspire to develop within the team.

Technical Competencies
Essential

  • A recognised degree in finance, accounting, or related subjects;
  • 0-2 years’ experience within a finance/accounting environment;
  • Competent accountant with a good understanding of double entry and best practices;
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel;
  • Excellent communication in English (both written and oral);
  • Experience of working within a multi-cultural environment;
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships and communicate effectively at all levels.

Desirable

  • Some Big 4 experience as an assistant/associate or above (PwC/EY/KPMG/Deloitte);
  • Working knowledge of JD Edwards, Hyperion Finance Management (HFM), Smart View, or other information systems and databases.
