Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Buyer to join our dynamic Procurement team. As an Assistant Buyer, you will play a key role in supporting the buying team by assisting with the procurement of products, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring inventory levels meet demand. This is an excellent opportunity for an organized individual with strong analytical skills and a passion for Procurement. You will be supporting the Procurement activities of goods and services related to Dulsco Environment Division

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in Procurement:

  • Support Category Managers in sourcing and purchasing products/services based on inventory requirements
  • Assist with vendor selection, negotiation of prices, and order placement.
  • Ensure products are purchased in a timely manner, meeting cost, quality, and delivery expectations.

Supplier Relationship Management:

  • Maintain effective communication with suppliers to ensure product availability and resolve any delivery issues or discrepancies.
  • Track and review supplier performance, quality standards, and delivery schedules.

Order Tracking and Reporting:

  • Track purchase orders and monitor progress to ensure timely delivery.
  • Assist in managing the purchase order lifecycle, ensuring timely receipts, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Prepare regular reports on inventory status, order progress, and vendor performance.

Market Research:

  • Conduct research on market trends, pricing, and competitor products to assist in the buying decision-making process.
  • Stay informed about product innovations, industry trends, and emerging suppliers.

Administrative Support:

  • Assist in managing product data, including pricing, specifications, and product attributes.
  • Prepare and maintain relevant documentation for procurement activities.
  • Support with the preparation of budget reports and forecasts.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Retail, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in purchasing
  • Skills:
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with procurement software is a plus.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
