The Department of Life & Environmental Sciences invites applicants for a full-time position at the open rank: Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Sustainability Sciences & Environmental Management level.

Candidates are expected to be able to teach the following courses:

1. Principle of Sustainability
2. Energy and Sustainability Research Methods
3. Senior Project
4. Water & Solid Waste Management
5. Remote sensing & GIS application in Environmental Sciences

About the College

The College of Natural and Health Sciences (CNHS) offers world-class degree programs at both bachelor’s and master’s levels that are externally accredited for their rigorous standards of academic excellence. The Department of Life & Environmental Sciences offers an internationally accredited undergraduate degree in Environment & Sustainability Sciences. The LES also offers a Master's program in Environment & Sustainability Sciences.

Qualifications

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Sustainability Sciences & Environmental Management or related fields in Environmental Sciences from an accredited university that is, or can be, recognized by the UAE Ministry of Education. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in Environmental Science, Remote Sensing, Sustainability, and Environmental Management.

We seek candidates who can teach and conduct research in an interdisciplinary environment, demonstrating a strong track record of teaching, service, and research that includes a proven record of scholarly research and publications in peer-reviewed journals, and experience in securing external research funding and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.

Strong evidence of teaching excellence and a student-centred, innovative approach to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels is essential. At least two years of teaching experience is required.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education.
