Job Opportunity: Art Teacher

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Start Date: January 2025

Our client, a prestigious premium British international school located in Abu Dhabi, is seeking an enthusiastic, highly qualified, and experienced Art Teacher to join their outstanding team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering engaging and inspiring art lessons, nurturing creativity, and fostering an appreciation of visual arts across various age groups. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive and innovative educational environment in the vibrant capital city of the UAE.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality art lessons that cater to a diverse range of abilities and learning styles.
  • Teach art across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, including preparing students for external examinations such as GCSE and A-Level.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and inspiring classroom environment that promotes creativity and artistic expression.
  • Monitor, assess, and provide constructive feedback to support student progress and development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum plans, teaching resources, and art-related extracurricular activities.
  • Organize and contribute to art exhibitions, school events, and activities to showcase students’ work and celebrate their achievements.
  • Stay updated with current developments in art education and incorporate innovative teaching practices.

Requirements – Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
  • A degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching art to secondary school students, including preparation for external examinations such as GCSE and A-Level.
  • Strong artistic skills and a passion for teaching and inspiring creativity in students.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience teaching in an international school setting.
  • Familiarity with the British National Curriculum or a comparable curriculum framework.
  • Experience organizing school art exhibitions or productions.
