Architectural Inspector

ATI is looking for a full-time ARCHITECTURAL INSPECTOR to join its Dubai Studio.

The Role

As an Architectural Inspector, you will be responsible for reviewing, monitoring, and supervising contractor submissions, site work, and activities to ensure full compliance with project requirements. You will provide photographic and written documentation of the relevant findings.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site inspections of construction projects at various stages, from foundation to finishing, verifying that site conditions are suitable before construction begins and ensuring compliance with approved plans, specifications, Work Inspection Requests (WIR), and applicable building codes.
• Document all inspection findings, including any deficiencies or deviations from approved plans and specifications, using detailed written reports, photographs, and daily diary entries of inspection results, tests, and work activities.
• Maintain accurate and organized records of all inspections, test results, and related documentation.
• Review and understand design drawings, shop drawings, submittals, specifications, and project requirements, ensuring compliance with approved drawings and proper response to Work Inspection Requests (WIR).
• Ensure compliance with instructions from the project manager/resident engineer (PM/RE).
• Inspect and verify that delivered materials meet approval requirements and are correctly stored.
• Communicate inspection results effectively to contractors, architects, and project managers, explaining any required corrective actions.
• Monitor the progress of corrective actions and re-inspect completed work to verify compliance.
• Track and report construction progress for inclusion in monthly updates.
• Interpret and enforce building codes and regulations.
• Collaborate with other inspectors, engineers, and construction professionals to ensure project quality and safety.
• Identify potential problems or risks and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Participate in project meetings and provide technical expertise as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor and preferably Post Graduate Degree in Architecture.
• 10+ Years experience within a high-profile architectural firm in the construction of complex projects covering a variety of typologies from medium to large scale.
• 5+ years of relevant consultancy experience in the UAE.
• Strong understanding of architectural drawings, specifications, and standards.
• Thorough knowledge of building codes and regulations.
• Strong understanding of architectural principles, construction methods, and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
• Proficient in using inspection tools and software.
• Certification as an ICC Building Inspector or other relevant certifications is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
