Job Description:

As an Architectural Draftsman at INFRADEF FACILITIES MANAGEMENT LLC, you will be responsible for preparing detailed architectural drawings that will form the basis of our construction projects. Working closely with architects and engineers, you will transform sketches and concepts into precise, executable drawings, ensuring all elements are coordinated and compliant with relevant building codes and regulations.

A key aspect of this role will be visiting project sites to conduct assessments, verify measurements, and gather on-site information to ensure that designs align with actual site conditions. Your expertise will be essential in identifying any challenges or potential issues during the construction process and helping provide timely solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drafting and Design Support: Create and develop detailed architectural drawings, plans, and technical diagrams based on sketches, concepts, and project requirements using CAD and other drafting software.
• Collaboration: Work directly with senior architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure that design concepts are translated accurately into construction documents and that all designs adhere to the overall vision and functional requirements.
• Site Visits & Assessments: Travel to project sites to conduct thorough site analysis, measure existing structures, and assess site conditions. You will gather data necessary for accurate drafting and provide feedback regarding site-specific constraints or opportunities for design improvement.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all designs conform to local building codes, zoning laws, and other relevant regulations. Participate in ensuring all design specifications are feasible for construction and meet safety and environmental standards.
• Problem-Solving: Identify any potential design or construction challenges early in the process and collaborate with the design and construction teams to come up with solutions that minimize delays or complications during the building phase.
• Documentation & Updates: Maintain accurate records of design revisions, site conditions, and any other relevant project details. Prepare and update construction drawings to reflect design changes throughout the course of the project.
• Client & Contractor Liaison: Communicate effectively with clients and contractors to clarify design questions and ensure that drawings meet project needs. Assist in interpreting the technical aspects of architectural designs for non-expert stakeholders.
• Travel for Site Visits: Regularly travel to project sites as part of the design review process. This travel could involve both local and out-of-town visits, with some overnight stays as required. The frequency and locations of site visits will vary depending on the project phase.
