Reporting directly to the Senior Design Manager, the Design Manager (Architectural) will be required to provide input to the senior management on design delivery related matters and be fully responsible for the successful delivery of their assigned services and/or project component, for the duration of the Services. The Design Manager (Architectural) will work in coordination with the project management team to ensure the project's design stage objectives are met. Project Description As a member of our Project Management Consultant (PMC) team, you'll oversee a diverse portfolio of projects that contribute to Abu Dhabi's growth. You’ll play an important role in shaping thriving communities by managing the development of residential housing projects and ensuring the quality of new educational facilities. Furthermore, your expertise will be crucial in overseeing the development of mosques and maximizing urban space through infill development projects. Conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance to the team
Ensure the design aligns with client requirements, and is in compliance with current UAE legislation, industry standards and specifications where appropriate
Manage all aspects of the asset or infrastructure design production process to ensure the overall design is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of program’s strategic objectives
Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to manage the design and its approval, across the project stakeholders
Assist the Senior Design Manager in the preparation of a detailed project plan, as part of the Project Management Plan, for the asset or infrastructure design phases of the program
Manage the day-to-day architectural design monitoring activities and resources and actively participate in the design team meetings
Ensure that all asset or architectural design related project KPIs, targets, directions and instructions are communicated to all relevant project stakeholders in a clear and timely manner
Coordination between all disciplines (Architectural, Structural, and MEP)
Provide status reporting regarding architectural design milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across leadership
Participate and/or drive feasibility studies, vendor selections and proposals for evaluation by appropriate key stakeholders
Act as an internal quality control check for the architectural design documentation
Ensure that designs are proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget and quality standards
Manage design issues and risks to mitigate impact to baseline program
Extensive understanding of project and program management principles, methods and techniques
Desired candidate profile
BSc, Engineering, Architecture or equivalent
Design of building projects (villas and community facilities) within a Consulting environment in Abu Dhabi
Minimum of 10 years overall experience
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
Minimum of 5 years working in Middle East
Proficiency in Urban Design and Master Planning best practices and latest trends
Excellent report writing and communication skills
Extensive experience in project management
Structured approach to problem solving
Strong analytical and numerical skills
Proven ability to manage complex projects
Exceptional interpersonal skills with a focus on client relationships
