Job description
Roles and responsibilities
  • Application Monitoring and Maintenance:

    • Proactively Monitoring Applications: Ensure the smooth functioning of applications by continuously monitoring system performance, server health, and application logs.
    • Routine Maintenance: Perform scheduled tasks such as system upgrades, patches, backups, and updates to ensure applications are running on the latest and most secure versions.
  • Incident Management:

    • Incident Detection and Resolution: Respond to and resolve application-related issues reported by end-users or system alerts. This includes troubleshooting, analyzing, and resolving incidents promptly.
    • Issue Prioritization: Determine the severity of incidents and prioritize them based on business needs, ensuring minimal downtime.
    • Escalation Management: When necessary, escalate unresolved issues to developers, system administrators, or third-party vendors for further investigation and resolution.
  • User Support and Training:

    • End-User Assistance: Provide support to end-users by addressing queries, providing guidance on application features, and resolving issues they encounter while using the application.
    • User Documentation and Training: Create and maintain documentation such as user manuals, troubleshooting guides, and FAQs. Also, conduct training sessions for end-users to ensure they can effectively use the application.
  • Bug Reporting and Testing:

    • Identifying and Reporting Bugs: Detect and log application bugs or glitches reported by users or identified during routine checks.
    • Coordinating with Development Teams: Work closely with developers to communicate identified bugs, provide necessary context, and assist in testing new patches or fixes.
    • Testing Application Updates: Ensure that new software versions or updates are tested thoroughly before deployment to identify any potential issues or conflicts with existing systems.
  • System Configuration and Setup:

    • Configuration Management: Assist with the setup, configuration, and customization of applications to meet specific business needs. This may involve adjusting settings, managing user access, and configuring workflows.
    • User Account Management: Set up and manage user accounts, roles, and permissions within applications to ensure appropriate access control.
  • Performance Tuning:

    • Optimizing Application Performance: Monitor and analyze application performance metrics, including load times, response times, and system utilization. Recommend or implement improvements to optimize performance.
    • Capacity Planning: Forecast the demand on applications, ensuring they can handle expected user traffic and transactions without performance degradation.
  • Collaboration with Other IT Teams:

    • Work with IT Support Teams: Collaborate with system administrators, network engineers, and other IT professionals to address infrastructure-related issues impacting application performance.
    • Collaborating with Development Teams: Communicate any application issues to development teams for deeper investigation and resolution, and assist in implementing changes when required.

Desired candidate profile
  • Experience in Application production support within the ITIL Framework.
  • Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience in application troubleshooting, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Application performance tuning and optimization.
  • Resolution of tickets with quality and within SLA.
  • Proactive monitoring and incident analysis.
  • Experience in workflow maintenance and configuration.
  • Good knowledge of 5 asset classes: Equities, Fixed Income, Funds, ETF & Structured Products.
  • Portfolio Management & Trade lifecycle in Wealth Management.
  • Collateral Management concepts such as Pledge/UnPledge.
  • Experience in handling interface-related issues and good understanding of Middleware systems like TIBCO/Open API/Micro Services.
  • Very good knowledge in Oracle - SQL & PL/SQL / MSSQL.
  • Very good knowledge in .Net application framework.
  • Hands-on experience in Unix commands.
  • Limit Monitoring, Concepts of LTV & Haircut, Margin calls & Liquidation.
  • Basic data knowledge of Market data.
  • Knowledge on Advent/SAXO/FINIQ platform.
  • Good knowledge of Open source applications/application components.
  • Good knowledge of application licensing.
  • Knowledge on databases like Mongo, Hive, PostgreSQL.
