Application Server Administrator

Primary Responsibilities

1. Installation / Setup: Installation of Application servers (IBM WebSphere Application Server / Redhat JBOSS EAP / IBM HTTP Server / Redhat JBOSS Webservers), IBM MQ, IBM App Connect Enterprise.
2. Configuring Servers: Application servers Cluster setups, creating and configuring resources.
3. Maintenance Activities: IBM WAS / JBOSS EAP / IBM MQ / IBM ACE Patching with latest fix packs or Interim fixes or update patches.
4. Deployments: Deploying EAR / WAR / JAR files in Application servers and modifying resources in Application EAR’s after deployments.
5. Troubleshooting and Analyzing: Having strong troubleshooting capabilities and analyzing capabilities to fix issues reported in Prod / Test systems.
6. Documentation: Creating Installation documents or other product related documents and SOP documents.
7. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborating with cross-technical teams, including application support teams, subject matter experts, and IT professionals, to ensure successful implementation and adoption of application products. Communicating effectively with stakeholders to provide updates and address any concerns or feedback.
8. Continuous Learning and Improvement: Staying updated on the latest versions of Application servers or Messaging servers or Integration servers, tools, and best practices. Continuously seeking opportunities to enhance skills and improve automation processes.
9. Compliance and Security: Ensuring that application servers are implemented with provided security guidelines by the bank. Ensuring products (Application servers / Messaging servers / Integration Servers) deployed are in compliance with product license entitlements.
10. Support and Training: Providing support to end-users and stakeholders as needed, including troubleshooting issues, answering questions, and delivering training sessions to promote user adoption and proficiency in using automation tools.

Experience

1. Having 5 years of relevant Application server administrator experience with (preferably) 3 years of experience in the banking industry.
2. Strong Shell / bash scripting skills.
3. Strong Operating Systems Skills: Preferred AIX, Linux, Windows.
4. Certified IBM Application server Administrator.
5. Experience in Application server maintenance activities.
6. Must have thorough understanding and experience with Change management procedures.
7. Must have worked on Bank’s Critical systems like Core Banking / Digital banking.
8. Ability to work under tight deadlines and stretch to meet timelines.
