Roles and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head, Regional Marketing, E&I, Asia South, you are responsible for providing technical support to customers (cable manufacturers) in areas of troubleshooting, quality complaints response and resolutions, new products trials, providing technical documentation, and addressing general technical queries. Proposing and, in some cases, overseeing Application Development Projects (jointly with customers or internal) with the objective of identifying potential new business opportunities to expand Borouge’s offerings. Play a supporting role in identifying new customer needs as inputs to new product innovation ideas that contribute towards achieving step change innovations that drive the E&I strategy. From a technical perspective, influence local national standards and end-user specifications as a member of the technical committee. Promote E&I solutions with technical presentations to various value chain members – customers, specifiers, and end-users. Coordinate the update of product certifications/audits per local specifications requirements, by collaborating with internal departments and external institutes.
This position is based in Mumbai
Key Accountabilities:
Industry Knowledge
- Knowledge of key products used by cable manufacturers in SEA and ISC regions and raw material portfolios from key suppliers.
- Processing technologies adopted by customers in SEA and ISC regions and key project requirements.
Marketing Technical Support
- Continuously build knowledge, keeping up-to-date on the technical or procedural aspects of the job.
- Assist in identifying, proposing, and pursuing options for optimization of products and achieving cost efficiencies through conducting advanced analyses and product studies.
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of technical solutions, processes, and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction, and productivity improvement.
- Network effectively and participate proactively in multi-functional teams.
Product and Process Knowledge
- Demonstrate understanding of processing technology (e.g. conversion).
- Participate in tests or obtain tests of competitor products to compare features, pricing, quality, and ease of use.
Building Customer / Partner Relationships
- Support Sales function by introducing existing products to customers/partners.
- Conduct meetings and presentations for existing and new customers/partners on products' technical specifications in liaison with product owners.
- Further understand customers/partners requirements while proactively responding to technical queries. Interactions with customers/partners will mostly be with technical/procurement teams.
Desired Candidate Profile

About You:
- University degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent science/engineering degree.
- Preferably, M.Sc. degree in Polymer Chemistry/Technology/Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
- Fluency in English.
- 5-10 years relevant working experience.
- Industry-leading technical expertise in this application area.
- Excellent knowledge of the market in this application area.
- Proven track record in value chain understanding and influencing.
