Anesthesia Technician

An Anesthesia Technician is responsible for assisting anesthesiologists and other healthcare professionals in the preparation, operation, and maintenance of anesthesia equipment and supplies. This includes setting up anesthesia machines, monitoring patients during surgery, and troubleshooting technical issues. The Anesthesia Technician should have a strong understanding of anesthesia principles, as well as excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. They will work closely with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and comfort during surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the setup and preparation of anesthesia equipment and supplies.
• Calibrate and test anesthesia machines to ensure proper functioning.
• Monitor patient vital signs, anesthesia depth, and fluid levels during surgery.
• Troubleshoot technical issues with anesthesia equipment and promptly report any malfunctions.
• Prepare and administer anesthesia under the direction of an anesthesiologist.
• Ensure the availability and proper functioning of emergency equipment and airway devices.
• Assist in the positioning and transfer of patients during surgery.
• Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines in anesthesia procedures.
• Document patient information and anesthesia records accurately.
• Attend training and professional development programs to stay updated with anesthesia practices.

Minimum Requirements

• Certification or diploma in anesthesia technology or a related field.
• Proven experience as an anesthesia technician or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of anesthesia principles and equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a high-stress environment and handle emergencies calmly.
