The Anesthesia Technician provides assistance and support to anesthesiologists and other medical professionals during surgical procedures. They ensure that anesthesia equipment is functioning properly, prepare and administer medications, and monitor patients' vital signs. The Anesthesia Technician must have a strong knowledge of anesthesia techniques and equipment. They should possess excellent attention to detail and the ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare anesthesia equipment and ensure proper functioning and sterilization.
Assist in the administration of medications and intravenous fluids during surgical procedures.
Monitor and record patients' vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation.
Provide support during intubation and extubation procedures.
Assist in positioning and transferring patients safely.
Prepare patients for anesthesia procedures by obtaining medical histories and conducting preoperative assessments.
Maintain accurate records of anesthesia-related activities and patient information.
Adhere to safety and infection control protocols.
Minimum Requirements
Diploma or degree in anesthesia technology or a related field.
Proven experience as an Anesthesia Technician or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of anesthesia techniques, equipment, and medications.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
