Lead Alternative Fuels Trading: Manage and grow the company’s portfolio in alternative fuels for the marine industry, focusing on LNG, biofuels, hydrogen, and other sustainable energy sources.
Market Development: Identify new market opportunities, develop trading strategies, and execute sales of alternative fuels to key customers globally.
Client Management: Build and maintain long-term relationships with ship owners, charterers, suppliers, and other key stakeholders to ensure profitable and sustainable growth.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of evolving regulations and environmental standards in shipping (e.g., IMO 2020, carbon reduction targets) to ensure compliance and competitive advantage.
Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and close deals that align with both customer needs and company objectives, ensuring profitability and long-term sustainability.
Supply Chain Optimization: Collaborate with logistics, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely and efficient delivery of alternative fuels to clients.
Strategic Input: Contribute to the company’s alternative fuels strategy and support business expansion by identifying new regions, market segments, or fuel types.
Reporting & Analysis: Provide regular market analysis and reporting to senior management on trading performance, market trends, and new opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience:
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Energy Management, or related fields. MBA or other advanced degrees are a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in bunker trading, with a focus on alternative fuels or renewable energy in the maritime sector. Proven track record in trading LNG, biofuels, hydrogen, or other alternative fuels is essential.
Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the global shipping and bunker fuel industry, including regulations (IMO 2020, decarbonization targets) and sustainability trends.
Negotiation Skills: Exceptional negotiation and deal-making skills with a proven ability to close complex, high-value deals.
Client Relationships: Extensive network within the marine and bunker industry, including relationships with ship owners, charterers, and fuel suppliers.
Technical Skills: Proficient in trading platforms and systems, risk management tools, and data analysis.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with environmental and maritime regulations and a passion for sustainable energy solutions.
