Agriculture Trader

We have partnered with a dynamic trading house specialising in agricultural and soft commodities, looking to grow. With an extensive network and a reputation for excellence, the company is focused on creating value through innovative trading strategies, supply chain solutions, and strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage physical trading of agricultural/soft commodities (e.g., grains, sugar, coffee, oils, etc.) on a back-to-back or third-party basis.
• Develop and execute profitable trading strategies while managing risk effectively.
• Coordinate contracts, logistics, and documentation to ensure seamless execution.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and third-party service providers globally.
• Expand market presence by identifying new trading opportunities and developing partnerships in target markets.
• Keep abreast of global market trends, pricing, and regulatory changes affecting the soft/agri commodities space.
• Monitor and mitigate market, credit, and operational risks associated with trading activities.
• Ensure compliance with the company's risk management policies and regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with logistics, finance, and operations teams to optimize the end-to-end trading process.
• Provide input to internal teams regarding market intelligence and trade performance.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in physical trading of agricultural or soft commodities.
• Proven track record in back-to-back or third-party trading.
• Strong understanding of global supply chains, contracts, and trade finance.
• Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
• Proficiency in market analysis, risk management, and trade execution.
• Existing book of business or strong market contacts is highly desirable.
