Ensure design compatibility with authorities' rules and regulations.
Perform structural design and analysis for Design/Build contracts, coordinate the activities of the consultant, client, and Amana to develop compliant designs as per client requirements, and cooperate with the consultant to obtain approval from authorities in the shortest possible time frame and within the job estimate developed by the Tendering department.
Coordinate with Sr. Concrete Designer to interface with clients, consultants, and authorities to ensure quick approval of drawings compliant with job requirements and contract.
Check and approve the compatibility of Architectural, Civil, MEP, and Steel cladding drawings and designs (both in-house and third party) and ensure the resolution of any incompatibilities in coordination with the relevant parties.
Ensure the timely delivery of updated Issued for Construction drawings as defined by the drawings log set by the Engineering Manager.
Review the steel design/drawings received from the steel manufacturing company in coordination with Sr. Steel Designer to develop the concrete design and cover the interface areas properly.
Review any design/drawings proposed by subcontractors.
Keep a backup of all the design calculations on the Company’s server.
Be responsible for the preparation of the drawing submittal log in line with the overall project schedule in coordination with the Planning function and Sr. Concrete Designer.
Provide As-Built Drawings for jobs on a timely basis and as per the requirements of the Construction department.
Perform site visits as needed to compare designs with actual site practices and to improve knowledge of practical building practices.
Assist the Cost Control function as needed in variation orders and report the same to Sr. Concrete Designer.
Develop and maintain a library of standard constructible details with minimal cost implications.
Assist the Engineering Manager and Sr. Concrete Designer in completing the Engineering section Structural Works of the End of Job Report.
Support the Tendering department by providing technical design and advice to minimize costs to help secure projects.
Assist in the training and development of personnel in the Engineering function.
Assist in the training and development of draftsmen in the Engineering function.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Management.
Educational Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering; Master’s Degree is advantageous.
Minimum of 6 years of experience.
Professional Certifications in Autodesk Revit is advantageous.
Proficient in MS Office, STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAP, SAFE, PROKON, and Concise Beam.
Good knowledge of Revit software is required.
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and proactive.
Analytical skills, time management, and ability to work with speed and accuracy.
Experience in concrete structural design and familiarity with precast and steel design.
Ability to design (G+4) concrete buildings.
Excellent computer skills and communication skills in English (read, write, and speak).
