We are looking for a dedicated Acute Internal Medicine Physician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with acute medical conditions, typically admitted to medical wards or acute medical units. You will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and effective treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide acute medical care to patients presenting with a wide range of medical conditions.
Perform thorough assessments, diagnoses, and develop treatment plans for patients with acute or complex illnesses.
Lead acute medical admissions and provide care in emergency situations.
Carry out ward rounds, including the management of critically ill patients.
Coordinate with various specialties (e.g., cardiology, nephrology, respiratory medicine) to deliver integrated patient care.
Interpret and manage laboratory results, imaging, and other diagnostic tests to make informed treatment decisions.
Participate in acute and emergency care procedures, including resuscitation and stabilization of critically ill patients.
Ensure accurate documentation of patient history, treatment plans, and progress.
Mentor and supervise junior doctors, residents, and medical students in the department.
Engage in multidisciplinary team discussions and case reviews to optimize patient outcomes.
Keep up to date with medical advancements in acute internal medicine and incorporate evidence-based practices into patient care.
Contribute to the development and improvement of clinical protocols and standards of care.
Qualifications:
Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized medical institution.
Postgraduate qualification in Internal Medicine or Acute Medicine (e.g., MRCP or equivalent).
Experience of 3-5 years in acute internal medicine or a similar role.
Active license of current state to practice.
Certification in Advanced Life Support (ALS), Basic Life Support (BLS), or equivalent.
Demonstrated expertise in managing complex acute medical cases.
