Accountant - R2R & GL

We are looking to hire an Accountant - Record to Report (R2R) and General Ledger (GL) who will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards for our client based in Dubai—one of the largest semi-government companies in the region.

This position is a contract role with an initial duration of 6 months (renewable).

The role sits within the Finance Department and reports directly to the Finance Manager.

We are looking for a passionate Accountant - R2R and GL who is dedicated to delivering accurate financial reporting and analysis. You should also have experience in financial reconciliation, closing processes, and possess knowledge of accounting software.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the end-to-end financial close process.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of financial data.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
• Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits.
• Continuously improve financial processes and systems for efficiency.
• Monitor daily financial transactions to ensure accurate hospitality operations accounting.
• Oversee revenue recognition and cost allocation specific to hospitality services.
• Manage fixed asset accounting, including acquisition, depreciation, and disposal processes.
• Support the finance team in handling cash flow management specific to hospitality operations. Ensure compliance with industry-specific tax regulations and reporting.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the hospitality industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
