You will be reporting directly to the Financial Controller and responsible for the following:
- Management of accounts payable which includes recording of invoices from suppliers (process non-inventory purchases and matching vouchers, checking inventory & stock take adjustments).
- Submitting supplier payments to GM for approval and creating payment instructions using the company’s online banking and handling banking related matters.
- Management of accounts receivable which includes checking sales integration in the system, booking debit notes, and challenging import and sales support specialists on accounts receivable.
- Booking Fixed Assets and charging depreciation in accordance with the company’s policy and keeping the records in the FA register.
- Preparing liquidity report and submitting the report on a weekly basis to head office.
- Monthly multi-currency bank reconciliation and calculation of realised FX loss and gain, keeping a record of FX differences resulting from payments and receipts.
- Assisting Sales Finance Analyst and Finance Manager with the preparation of budget and forecast.
- Monthly payroll which includes posting payroll file, payroll entries, and making payments to employees.
- Reporting intercompany sales and purchase and creating invoices for services provided to the parent company.
- Analysing monthly P&L and creating month-end journals ensuring they are in line with the monthly trend.
- Management of various balance sheet accounts and their reconciliation, ensuring schedules are prepared for balance sheet accounts and they tie with the GL balance.
- Assisting external and internal audits during yearly/interim audit and other external parties.
To be successful you must have/be:
- Bachelor Degree as a minimum qualification.
- 3 years of statutory accounting experience in a similar role in a large company.
- Local and IFRS accounting knowledge.
- FOREX knowledge.
- JDEdwards (Peoplesoft Enterprise One) finance, inventory, fixed assets modules knowledge is a plus.
- Sense of priorities, proactivity, and autonomy.
