Accountant

As an accountant, you will take ownership of local compliance within the finance function in UAE. As part of this job, you may be required to support accounting functions for other territories in the Middle East.
This role is part of Bentley’s growing International Finance Team.

Your Day-to-Day:

• Executing Bentley’s financial reporting closing and ensuring compliance with group (US GAAP) and statutory accounting policies.
• Preparing journal entries (accruals, deferrals, prepayments, reclassifications).
• Maintaining accuracy and completeness of trial balances in SAP/Workday.
• Clearing open items in SAP/Workday.
• Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Preparing input files for local compliance and requirements, including statutory financial statements and VAT filings.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support strategic business initiatives.
• Assisting with group and statutory audits.
• Working closely with the international controllers and other general ledger accountants.
• Assisting with ad hoc inquiries for UAE.

What You Bring to The Team:

• Degree in accounting.
• 1-3 years’ experience in a similar role related to accounting.
• Experience in cooperation with teams in a multicultural environment.
• Suggesting improvements to processes and systems.
• Workday Finance, SAP and Blackline knowledge is an advantage.
• A basic understanding of international accounting and reporting requirements (US GAAP and IFRS) is an advantage.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Professional proficiency in English written and verbal, with fluency in Arabic required. Knowledge of other languages is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work with tight deadlines.
