Seeking an Accountant for a single-family office in Dubai. This key role will be responsible for the day-to-day management and administration of the financial affairs of the SFO.
The role requires solid bookkeeping and accounting skills, along with strong communication skills. Autonomy will be given, so initiative, a proactive approach, flexibility, and respect for deadlines are crucial to be successful in this role.
The Accountant will work with the founder and the team to ensure the following tasks are completed:
- Processing of all client payables (bookkeeping / AP)
- Tracking and maintaining detailed information related to all client assets (cash, investments, business interests, real estate, physical assets, etc.)
- Preparation of client reporting package (monthly/quarterly)
- Daily monitoring of client cash accounts
- Monitoring, reporting, and reconciliation of all client credit card activity
- Tracking and managing all tax-related information and distribution to the client's accounting team
- Facilitation of all quarterly / annual tax payments and returns
- Preparation of account paperwork for new banking and investment accounts
- Coordination of capital calls for clients' private equity investments
- Consolidation of financial data/accounts
- Tracking of all portfolio distributions in the internal reporting platform
- Transmission of critical data to clients' advisors
- Administration of the client's Foundation/Trust and small business entities (partnerships, LLCs, etc.)
- Tracking clients' international travel in order to notify credit cards of travel status
- Processing payroll for operating entities and/or household staff
- Maintenance and upkeep of the internal CRM and data management system
Skills and Experience for Success:
- Experience working with high net worth individuals and their advisors
- Strong general ledger, accounts payable, and cash management skills
- Proficiency in MS applications, especially Excel
- Critical and strategic thinker who thrives in a quick-paced, ever-changing, complex environment
- Experience with financial software including Sage, QuickBooks/QuickBooks Online, REACH Reporting, Rockit, Archway, Crystal Reports, and Office 365
- Exceptional communication, writing, and listening skills
- Team player with a high EQ willing to roll up their sleeves to do what it takes
- Ability to understand the complexity of the founder's needs and concerns
- Must be willing to work flexible hours to accommodate the founder's changing timezone location when traveling
Qualifications:
The ideal experience will include:
- A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- 2+ years of accounting and financial reporting experience within the single-family office, accounting, corporate, or wealth management industry
- The ideal candidate must be willing to learn new concepts and ideas. They must be a hard worker who can anticipate the needs of a high-net-worth founder and be comfortable sharing unique ideas and concepts.
