Job Description: We are looking for a highly organized and experienced Accountant to join our team in Haur-Fakkan. In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing all accounting activities and ensuring that all records are accurate and up to date. This includes managing the daily bookkeeping, payroll and financial reporting functions, as well as preparing monthly financial statements and supporting documents. You will also be responsible for monitoring compliance with applicable laws and regulations as well as providing guidance to other departments when needed.
Requirements:
Degree in Accounting or related field of study
At least 3 years of experience in bookkeeping and accounting roles
Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent communication, organizational, problem solving and time management skills
Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word) as well as software used in the accounting department (e.g., QuickBooks)
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Responsibilities:
Prepare financial statements on a monthly basis including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, etc.
Maintain accurate records of accounts payable/receivable transactions
Prepare journal entries for various transactions including payroll expenses, depreciation/amortization expense calculation etc.
Manage accounts receivable/payable process ensuring timely payments of invoices/bills
Reconcile bank accounts on a regular basis to ensure accuracy of financial information
Prepare monthly reports such as sales analysis report or budget vs actual analysis report etc.
Analyze discrepancies between actual results and budgeted amounts; identify root causes & suggest solutions accordingly
Monitor compliance with applicable laws & regulations such as tax laws, employment laws etc.; provide guidance when needed
Provide support to other departments when needed by preparing ad hoc reports or analysis for decision making purposes
