Accountant

Stantec Middle East is looking to hire a Temporary Accountant to be assigned in our Dubai UAE operations.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

1. Accounts Payables:
   • Recording accounts payable invoices and payments.
   • Performing supplier reconciliations.
   • Tracking accounts payables aging and forecasting payments for cashflow forecasts.
   • Performing bank & petty cash reconciliations and postings.
2. Accounts Receivables:
   • Preparing and recording intercompany invoices and performing intercompany reconciliations.
   • Preparing invoices for clients based on project requirements and liaising with project teams.
   • Recording cash receipts and preparing a summary for cash forecasting.
3. GL Accounting:
   • Performing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining schedules for prepayments, amortizations, leave & gratuity, and other accounts.
   • Preparing and posting month-end transactions.
   • Supporting the Chief Accountant in the preparation of VAT and tax returns.
   • Supporting the Chief Accountant in the preparation of audit schedules and documentation.
4. Project Accounting:
   • Creating and setting up projects in Deltek with the work breakdown structure and updating monthly based on changes in forecasts.
   • Coordinating with the project manager for up-to-date project forecasts and EAC.
   • Creating new project codes for bid projects.

Success Criteria:

• Must have a Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years total experience in Finance or Accounting.
• Prior experience in maintaining accounts for multinational businesses and experience in performing month-end transactions.
• Demonstrate ability to analyze numbers and perform complex reconciliations.
• Demonstrate ability to analyze data.
• Understanding the use of Power Query and Power Pivot or similar tools is desirable but not essential.
• Experience working with Deltek or similar accounting systems is desirable but not essential.
• Experience working with a service-based/consulting business is desirable but not essential.
• Prior experience working for a Middle East-based business is desirable.
