Job description

The Account Manager understands the customer’s situation in-depth. This includes strategic plans, the business environment in which they work, macroeconomic drivers; portfolio directions and changes; key geographical locations and wells. He is a key source of account information for segment sales staff. He builds professional relationships across the organization with key customer staff, including management, research and development, operations and functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  1. Maximizes revenue and profit for NOV for the account.
  2. Develops cross or multi-segment initiatives to address customer’s needs providing significant differentiators to NOV and unique business value to the customer.
  3. Identifies customer needs and develops technical solutions that will add value to the customers operations. Communicates the technical success of NOV to customer organization. Utilizes organizational resources to work on customer problems.
  4. Highlights competitor’s areas of weakness or areas of large profitability. Looks to displace competition.
  5. Listens for opportunities for their and other segments / product lines. Listens for market and competitive intelligence. Informs NOV via management and CRM (Customer Relationship Management).
  6. Builds lasting, professional relationships with key customers at multiple levels to ensure NOV is a preferred choice and trusted supplier. Maintains quick responsiveness to the customer.
  7. Maintains integrity in all words and actions ensuring ethics, quality and HSE are evident and a key differentiator.
  8. Fully engages in the bid process for larger tenders: manages a common NOV position and justifies contractual strategy for bids to maximize the return on that contract.
  9. Recommends to NOV management what resources are needed in order to secure the maximum revenue from the account.
  10. Actively updates segment sales staff and management on key information.
  11. Supports NOV staff in establishing effective relationships inside the customer’s organization.
  12. Uses the sales systems and processes to document and communicate opportunities, competition intelligence, and customer information including contacts, visit reports, intelligence, etc.

BEHAVIORAL SKILLS / COMPETENCIES :

  1. Profit and customer service driven.
  2. Clearly understands customer drivers and how they translate into sales leads.
  3. Builds lasting and professional relationships with customers at key levels.
  4. Able to manage by influence.
  5. Knowledge of NOV’s offering and synergies between products and services.
  6. Understands the oil and gas workflows and can apply solutions to problems.
  7. Effectively uses Sales Business Systems.
  8. At least 8+ years of previous work experience in Performance Drilling Tools and Drilling Motors.
  9. Knowledge of Fishing & Intervention activities.
  10. Other Drilling Tools, Coiled Tubing and Service Equipment is essential for this role.
  11. Arabic Language - is a Must.
  12. Deep knowledge of competition’s offering, pricing tactics and sales strategies.
  13. Deep knowledge of local markets where the account operates.
