AC Senior Foreman (Bus Maintenance & Operations)

The AC Senior Foreman oversees the maintenance, repair, and operational efficiency of air conditioning (AC) systems in a fleet of buses. This role ensures that all AC systems meet safety, performance, and regulatory standards while leading a team of technicians and coordinating with other departments to maintain optimal bus functionality.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and manage a team of AC technicians and mechanics.
2. Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide technical guidance.
3. Conduct regular training sessions to ensure team members are up-to-date with the latest AC technologies and repair techniques.

Maintenance & Repairs

1. Oversee the inspection, maintenance, and repair of bus AC systems.
2. Diagnose complex AC system issues and provide effective solutions.
3. Ensure all repairs are completed efficiently and in compliance with safety standards.

Quality Assurance

1. Conduct regular quality checks on AC systems to ensure optimal performance.
2. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and environmental standards.
3. Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.

Inventory & Resource Management

1. Manage inventory of AC parts, tools, and equipment.
2. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely availability of required materials.
3. Monitor and control maintenance costs within budget.
4. Work closely with other departments (e.g., operations, safety, and procurement) to ensure seamless bus operations.
5. Prepare and submit detailed reports on AC system performance, maintenance activities, and team productivity.
6. Provide recommendations for improving AC system efficiency and reducing downtime.

Safety & Compliance

1. Ensure all AC maintenance and repair activities adhere to safety protocols and regulations.
2. Conduct safety briefings and ensure the use of proper protective equipment.
3. Stay updated on industry standards and regulatory changes related to bus AC systems.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education

1. Diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in HVAC, automotive systems, or a related field is preferred.

Experience

1. Minimum of 15 years of experience in AC maintenance and repair, preferably in the transportation or automotive industry.
2. At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory or foreman role.

Skills

1. Strong technical knowledge of bus AC systems and components.
2. Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing complex AC issues.
3. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
4. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
5. Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.

Certifications

1. HVAC certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
