We’re searching for an A/C technician who is responsible for performing repairs for the heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration systems in the hotel facilities. Respond and attend to guest repair requests and communicate with guests or staff to resolve any HVAC maintenance issues.
A little taste of your day-to-day:
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
- Maintaining the hotel equipment, building, and assets in good condition to ensure high performance and reduce breakdowns.
- Reporting immediately any misuse of hotel equipment and assets to their direct Supervisor or Shift Leader.
- Using initiative and foresight to undertake tasks outlined within the preventative maintenance program without the direction of the Shift Engineer/Chief Engineer.
- Conducting daily inspections and rectification of all public areas in relation to your trade.
- Regularly inspecting and touring the Mechanical and Electrical plant rooms to ensure that they are clean and in operating order.
- Regularly inspecting utilities and informing the Line Manager immediately in case of any failure, breakage, or shortage.
- Ensuring that appropriate files are maintained and resources kept for future reference.
- Completing daily reports outlining work undertaken for the day.
- Carrying a pager and responding to requests from departments regarding minor maintenance issues throughout the day.
- Conducting lighting checks to ensure all globes are in working order.
- Assisting in the planning and scheduling of daily operations and preventative maintenance.
- Completing periodic maintenance schedules.
- Monitoring energy and water consumption used in the hotel.
- Regularly patrolling in and out of the hotel premises to ensure that the lighting schedule is implemented for reducing energy consumption, as well as identifying any water leaks.
- Familiarizing yourself with the green initiatives and the saving plans.
- Reviewing the quality and quantity of the ordered materials and advising the direct supervisor or shift leader.
- Following up on the purchase orders with the purchasing department.
- Ensuring that the ordered equipment, appliances, parts, and chemicals are energy efficient, environmental, or eco-friendly products.
What We Need from You:
- Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role with a 5-star hotel.
- You should have proven knowledge in the installation, commissioning, operation, maintenance, and repair of the equipment. Ability to find faults and rectify systems is essential.
