The ideal candidate will be a talented individual contributor artist, specializing in animation-related disciplines like rigging, skinning, and animating. Experience shipping 3D AAA games or AR/VR experiences is required.

As a Senior Rigger/Animator, you will be responsible for the creation and integration of 3D animation content in line with the creative direction, technology, and quality benchmarks of the project. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and solve complex technical challenges and drive the development of cutting-edge solutions.

Responsibilities

1. Rig characters, creatures, and animated props, working closely with animators to achieve engaging in-app performance.
2. Create stunning animations that are responsive and support the overall user experience.
3. Implement, troubleshoot, and debug animation systems in-engine.
4. Work with cross-functional teams to identify and solve complex technical challenges.
5. Collaborate with team members to design and implement solutions to meet business and technical requirements.
6. Understand and apply best practices in 3D art and design, including user-centered design principles.
7. Maintain and improve existing 3D art systems and assets.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Art, Design, or a related field.
2. 5+ years of industry experience in 3D art and design.
3. Strong portfolio of 3D rigging and animation work.
4. Experience shipping 3D AAA games or AR/VR experiences.
5. Proficiency in 3D art and design software, including Maya, 3DS Max, and Blender.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
7. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
8. Proven experience according to the gaming engines requirements (Unity, Unreal).
9. Have a good understanding of animation principles — timing, weight, and staging.
10. Improving and designing animation pipeline and workflow.
11. Cloth/Hair simulation ability in Maya or Game is a huge plus.
12. An understanding of character creation (modeling, texturing) is a huge plus.
13. Ability to learn game engine tools and pipeline.
14. Nice to have understanding of motion capture technique and mo-cap data processing knowledge.
